This is true. Not all HDMI cables will support a 1080p signal. Again, Blue Jeans Cable Click on 'Articles' and read for 15 minutes. They explain the whole HDMI thing very well. You can get a top-quality HDMI cable at a reasonable price. Or you can get ripped off. |

+87 My parents put a 60 inch plasma on the wall of their vacation home in Florida. The place they bought it from wanted $600 for 2 HDMI and 2 toslink optical cables. I told my dad that was bullshit and he could get good quality cables for a fraction of that cost. He told the salesman that and the salesman said that they needed the more expensive cables to shield the signal from interference. I told my dad that that's a load of crap and to ask him what kind of interference is going to effect optical cables. The salesman had no answer for that. |

The specs for HDMI 1.0 call for 1080p 60Hz support. Sounds like scare tactics to get more of your money. Get the HDMI version called for by your TV, but don't spend more for "quality" unless you want something pretty to show off to your friends. |
