| Do you sight in a 3x9 scope on 3 or 9 power? |
| You'll probably wind up putting your scope on one power and leaving it there. I'd say to sight it in at high power, it should still be on if you back down to low power. If you sight it in at low power, you're more likely to be off when you increase magnification. |

You should zero at the highest power (and many scopes with ranging reticles are only accurate when set on the highest power). Then, you should, by default, leave the scope at the LOWEST power. This allows the widest field of view and the easiest/fastest target acquisition. Then, once acquired, you can raise the magnification if required. -Troy |

With most "quality" optics, it doesn't matter. But generally, sight at the highest power. The crosshairs may move a little. If you sight at high power, the margin of error will have less effect on your point of impact at a lower magnification than if you sight a low power and use it at a higher power. |
