Anyone have bad experiences with DHL? Mine is weird, not sure who it is to blame, either the USPS or DHL The book is shown as 'delivered' by amazon yet I dont have it. I call DHL and they said they delivered it to the postal service and their tracking say it was indeed delivered to the USPSThey say I have to call USPS so ill see tommorrow but this seems like a stupid way to deliver, I was home all day so they didnt try and I got the mail and still have no book, I tried the number od USPS' website and it says 'not found' Albeit a minor problem this pisses me off, wouldnt it have been easier to deliver to me, not the usps

When I worked for Airborne Express before it was acquired by DHL we started doing those postal deliveries. Essentially, it is done to save money but ensure quicker shipping at the same time. Amazon probably has a fulfillment center at the DHL hub where they deliver packages directly to the main sort. DHL then will transport the packages via their air network to speed up delivery time, but to save on delivery fees they deliver to the post office for the final home delivery. As a result you are not waiting a week for the postal service to truck your books across country. It may not sound like it saves money, but when you are offering free 3-5 day shipping on every order over $25 you have to play the game for all that it is worth. |
