Sweeeeeeeeeet. I tried and tried but my post could not inspire passion but I have finally done it. and now they are arguing over stuff I was not even asking about.

YESSSSS!

Any way what would you prefer for normal guy home defense 0 to 25 yards. 9mm sbr AR suppressed. Or 223 sbr suppressed. If you don't like me or my topics just remember................. I love you man!

Why don't you look into training courses in your area and train with both firearms if possible and see what you think would work for you?

You can't figure out what works for you if you don't practice and train!

You could start a topic on your favorite fishing lure and some dumb ass would get banned because of the argument about the tannerite trap he has set by his outhouse.

Seriously for a suppressed short range defensive weapon the 9mm makes much more sense than the .223.

1)  The cartridge is designed to reach max velocity in a short barrel

2)  Quieter suppressed

3)  Blowback action is more reliable than a gas system that been shortened so much.

4)  The bullets are larger and designed for the velocity they are being used.

To answer your question an AR in .223 would be sufficient.

What was the gun in HEAT? BTW, Glocks and 1911's are crap. Glocks melt and 1911's aren't reliable until you pump $$3000+ into them.

Oh wait, I thought you wanted to start an argument....

50 BMG.

Even if I miss within a room the muzzle blast will knock him over.

Huh, that actually kinda makes sense.  I would have voted .223 myself but you've got me thinking now.

Yea me too I like this supressed 9mm sbr thing but what is that like 400.00 in tax stamps before I can even make it.

Or an unsuppressed 9mm pistol, no stamps involved.

Sling it Euro style and you might be surprised how accurate you can be.

Does anybody have a velocity comparison between say a 4.25 barrel pistol and SBR rifle or SMG type weapon for 9mm?

Something i always wondered about and been to lazy to research it myself
