My laddies (19 & 23) have purchased that "Guitar Hero" (or whatever it's called) game. It is obnoxious beyond belief; beyond imagination. They are home for the holidays, and enthusistically shredding away.

Hearing it is like having a kindly neighbor give me a free root canal with his trusty Dremel. Lord, Lord, Lord.

Is that the one that Walmart has 3 set up in different parts of the store and there's always some dirtbag thinking he's/she's a rockstar?

But tonight there was a 10 yr old playing "Smoke on the Water."

Guitar Hero is just the guitar. There is another game called "Rock Band" that has a guitar, drum set and microphone. My brother got both games for his 4 kids for Christmas and I am supposed to go over there. Can't wait to hear that Christmas Day.

That game is hilarious. My friend brought his PS3 over a few weeks ago and my wife and I played it - and now I'm tempted to buy a PS3 just to play Guitar Hero!

Fortunately, I am too cheap to get one, but the temptation is strong!

I double-dog dare you to try it!!!

You could always just buy a PS2. Brand new I think it's like $130 and used is even cheaper. The PS2 version is basically the same thing as the PS3 version.

My husband went out and bought our dream tv - a 50 inch LCD high def - So what do we watch? Guitar Hero ! Seems like 24 hours a day (including the husband!) The family now has 2 Guitars, xbox live and for Christmas They will have rock band! Well, at least I know where everyone is......

Rockband pwns GHIII. The guitar parts aren't much different, but RB gives you drums, a mic, and downloadable songs as well.

(and my wife likes to play)

my son has both,GH and rockband,the clacking is a little annoying but has given him an appreciation of great rock music.now he wants to know all about these bands and their music ,i think its cool! sure beats rap!!

Absolutely! My kids have GH2 and they're getting Rock Band for Christmas. It's good clean fun, and I think it's cool that my 10-year old likes Lynyrd Skynyrd. I just had to teach him how to pronounce it correctly.

I just bought it today for the PS3, it's a really fun game with lots of good songs in it. It gets pretty addicting too.

lol at the clack clack clack posts, now I know what they mean by it
