I bought one of these on 11 Dec to wear on my hardhat at work.  Cost was $16.97 at Home Depot.

From the Energizer website:

www.energizer.com/products/flashlights/worklights/Pages/flexible-rubber-work.aspx

6 LED Work Headlight
Features and Benefits:
Runs up to 50 hours on 1 set of Energizer® MAX® batteries
Four lighting modes: spot, flood, spot + flood and night vision; extra-wide strap includes reflective tape and pencil grips
Packed with 3 Energizer® MAX® AAA batteries

I was skeptical, as it certainly didn’t cost as much as the expensive ones I saw on the REI website.

But let me tell you, this thing works GREAT.

Granted, it doesn’t really compare to any of the Surefires I have, but…

It has been on my hard hat everyday since I bought it.  It probably has ran for 5 hrs per day - I’ve been on a lift, making electrical joints in a semi to almost completely dark ceiling.  Batteries show no sign of power loss yet, and I’ve run it exclusively (except for experimentation) on “spot+flood.”

In almost complete dark, the beam throw on “spot + flood” is good out to about 15 feet or so.

It fell about 10 feet yesterday with no ill effects.

I’m not too big on reviews, so I’ll just say“buy one, you won’t be disappointed.”

Matter of fact, I’m going to buy another one to keep in my truck.

But I have to wonder:  if this thing is that good, how much better would a $75 Petzl be?

Bought one and love it.  Great for car repair after dark.  Just put on my snow tires tonight with it.

Another favorite of mine in the sub $20.00 class is the Rav-O-Vac 1Watt Sportsman Extreme has 3 modes Red, Blue, & White all adjustable from spot to flood buy a swivel filter. But the big selling point is the power setup just 1 AA batt.
