[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Got Snow?? Post Pics!! (Page 1 of 2)
| We're supposed to get 6" tonight, and by the end of the weekend, 12"+ of snow, sleet, ice, etc. I'll have some good pics in a little while. It just started snowing about an hour ago, but much of it was melting on contact (it's just barely 32 degrees). It's just now starting to accumulate, but it's far from pic worthy. |

I'm skeptical about the local weatherman's claims, though. Since I've moved here, it's occured to me that the BIGGEST news is weather related. These guys cream their jeans and salivate over the prosepect of storms. The thing is, I don't think the viewers really give a shit. Anyway, they have a habit of talking up a good storm, then kind of going "Aw shucks" when it didn't pan out. So for all I know, I'm really not going to get hit that hard. |
Also: Sunny day, the radar channel on cable loops the radar feed endlessly. Heavy rain, or god forbid snow, and the radar channel is absolutely PACKED with commercials, mostly for the damn cable company (did you know they have digital phone? what a country...) |
Sounds like a great night to get drunk and webcast on www.rambling-geek.com/ ![]() ![]() |
7:15 in Fulton County, NW Ohio. Looks about like that, maybe a touch more. We've been getting fluries on and off, so not much has accumulated. The weathermen say we're supposed to get the heavy stuff around midnight. I might have some better pics tommorow. |
Damn, what kind of camera? |
I think weathermen own stock in grocery firms. |
whats the name of the water flowing through? looks very similar to where I grew up in OH. |

I think you're on to something, here. Everybody was buying milk and bread today. Incidentally...what the hell is up with people around here, and their milk and bread? Seriously, I could go for a year without either one. I might not like it, and it's limiting (particularly the lack of milk), but why do people freak the fuck out at the thought of running out of milk and bread? ![]() Furthemore, I've lived here for a grand total of 3 years. I grew up in California. It took me less than 3 months to figure out that shit happens in the winter, and it's a good idea to have a minimum of 2 weeks worth of preps in the basement. I have a month's worth. About the only thing I do before a big storm is make sure my Jeep is gassed up. That's it. Why is it that hordes of people who GREW UP HERE scramble at the last minute to buy stuff? Haven't they realized that this shit happens every year?

Sounds similar to what people do during hurricane season. |
Nope....not even close. Upper NW MT, near the Idaho and Canadian border. |
You guys hiring any machinists/mechanical engineering student's? |
Bummer dude. No the hot there part, but never seeing snow? When they closed out plant in Florida and moved all those people to Kansas City, it was funny as hell watching them all gather around the window and watch the snow fall. ![]() Looked like a bunch of 5 year olds watching the snow for the first time. Every time for about the first 3-4 years we got a light dusting of snow, they would call in.
