So I am thinkin about something.
Push my shooting bench up to the window, open it, and place the chronograph on a barstool outside the window. I will put some target up on the other side of the yard. There is nothing but woods behind the yard.

Kind of like an indoor range and my reloading bench is 10 feet away!! My nightlight shoot be enough to see the hits.

What if there just happens to be someone in the woods whe you do this?....kinda defeats the concept of a suitable backstop

I remember some country/western singer, I think female had this COOL indoor range built underneath her house. Some tv show a few years back. I wish I could remember who it was. I like to see some pics of a setup like that one

Also, Tom Clancy apparently has hsi own custom underground range at his mansion.

OP - and your backstop will be - "woods???"

Not sure the reloading bench 10 feet away is a good thing.

Might want to rethink the location of that.

That and just step outside the house to shoot.

If your worried about the rain messin up your hair you might have more problems that range qualifications.

I have a 50 foot long basement that is perfect to set up an indoor range.

Dude, just set up a earthen backstop in your back yard and your done.  Actually if you can only shoot out of your window, just use airsoft.  Then again you can do that in your backyard as well.

Where's the pics of that guy that had the killer setup where he could test his reloads right there next to his reloading equipment? You know the one I'm talking about if you've been around here a few years.

"This guy I know", has one, and the hardest part about it was getting the correct ventilation. As it is, you still have to shoot either jacketed or plated bullets with "clean" powders so the the ventilation will work correctly. Everything else is easy, and when it's -15 outside, the "bunker" is nice and toasty and rounds are going down range

Yeah, could have been. Maybe Dolly Parton? Come to think of it, the female country star might be the right angle.

He even had a jeep dedicated to running out to the 1000 yard targets to retrieve them.   The thread said something about being able to shoot three different loads from the same case with the guy never leaving his seat.  He had somehting like six dillon presses lined up next to each other.

Found them!!

Why the jeep and the wooden walls? Well, you see, the room's soundproofed.
And there's this in one wall:

Which leads, across up to seven chronographs, outside:

Furthest target? 1000yards. Hence the jeep. Lads and ladies, that is what you call a proper reloading setup :p

Whomever I stole these pictures from, my apologies.

ETA: one more!
