Help get them home Ernie has done this for a few years now. It's tax deductible. Bring the troops home for Christmas for their families. Just a snippet from Ernies HouseOfWhoopAss on how the drive is going. If you can spare a few bucks he'll appreciate your help. Thanks. On the LBEH side, Kat, Bibi and Val have been doing more than their fair share of things, so I have to tip my hat to them. We're crossing the $33k mark in donations. I still have another 100 donors to add to the list, which I hope to have done today. As always, you know my drill, please help. We did receive this thank you note from a mom though, and I thought I'd share it with you folks... Oh my, I'm sitting here crying. You just don't know (maybe you do) how much you have done for us. How happy you have made each of us to know that we will see our son. I don't know how to thank you, one day I will be able to give money, and this will be at the top of my list! Thank you so very, very much. Two of my daughters are cheering and hugging. Thank you. Thank you so much for all your hard work in getting Stephen home for Christmas. We will lift a glass of eggnog to each of you. Have a wonderful holiday yourselves after you finish all the hard work you are doing for these wonderful people you are helping. You have genuinely shown the milk of human kindness. Thank you, Elizabeth _______ LBEH page...................... WE'VE STARTED! Yes, this is our SEVENTH year helping our nation's military spend Christmas with their loved ones! That's right, each year we take donations to purchase plane tickets for junior enlisted military personnel, allowing them the opportunity to fly home and spend the holidays with their families. This program was initially started in December 2001 to show our grateful appreciation to American service members deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, and has become an annual tradition ever since. The world is a very different place from what it was six years ago, when you and I first began this journey. As public opinion for the war in Iraq has molded the phrase 'bring them home' to imply other motives, I want to take a minute and remind everyone of the purpose behind LBEH. We are not for the war in Iraq, nor are we against it. We are not Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Green or Independent. Our motives serve not to change world events, or your perception of them. Our mission is as simple, as it is noble. All we want to do is unite a few military families for the Christmas holiday. That's it. No hidden agendas, no political speeches. We just buy plane tickets for troops. Period. Last year we raised over $75,000 and helped 150 soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines go home for Christmas. This year we'd like to do the same, and we need your help to do it! Remember, your donations are tax deductible! special thanks to michael monteforte jr. for helping us get our 501c(c) tax exempt status! special thanks to express hosting for helping us out with the new server! remember, - you can view our 2006 return here and our 2005 return here ! |
| It's Ernie who runs his web site ErniesHouseofWhoopAss doing this. Good guy. He remembers when his dad used a credit card for the first time when Ernie was in the Air Force and couldn't afford to get home. His dad used the card, took on the debt to have Ernie home with the family. I just donate and hope some of the others here can help out our troops. Tons of requests and he tries to get as many of our folks home to their families as he can. Visit the link for more info. Thanks. |
