Other...... It is a poor choice of weapon if a gun can be had. It is a good choice of weapon over a simple pocket knife.

If you have nothing else or are a scumbag criminal that is not allowed to own a firearm (cough), a machete can be formidable (unless the other guy has a gun). Even a dull one could probably break long bones.

If someone came after me with one I'd run, unless I had a gun.

It would depend how much you had actually used a machete before other, than waving it around in front of a mirror trying to make scary faces

. I could defend myself damned well against everything short of projectile weapons with my machete.
