Any suggestions for 150+ multiDVD player?

What do you have and how much did it cost?

Something like this --  anything better for less than $350?

Sony 400-Disc Upconversion DVD/CD/SACD Mega Changer
Model #: SON   DVPCX995V
• 400-disc changer
• High-definition upscaling
• Tuner not included

Just curious as to why you would want something like this?

Right now we have a single disc player and one big tv and for my wife and kid, they like watch a lot of dvds.  My wife is chronically ill and watching different DVDs is one of her pleasures, but she sometimes can't even get up to change them. She likes to watch some things over and over -- sort of like reading books over.

400 DVD's in a changer take up a lot less space than 400 DVDs on the shelf.

Still not enough.

Not enough DVD slots or not enough of reason to get one?

Sony's 400 DVD changers are the highest-capacity consumer DVD players available.  Anything bigger is going to be commercially-geared, and significantly more expensive.

holee sheeeot!

400 dvds!?

at 5 megs per mp3, you can fit 140 songs on a regular CD.  How much space do DVDs have? 4 gigs?

Thats like 320,000 songs!  Or 21,000 hours of music!

How in the hell could you ever listen to it all???

We have one of the Sony 400 disc changers and it's great, it keeps all of our DVD's and CDs organized and easy to play, great for anyone with a kid. Very good picture quality.

Not enough slots.  Can you arrange the DVDs by title?

That's what I really need.  A way to catalog them all.

The Sony model we have can be linked to and control another changer so that you would have a capacity of 800 discs.

This is the one we recently purchased, and it works great.  You can add titles and artists to all DVDs and CDs; catalog by genre or title or both.

The only drawbacks are the cycle time to open and close, such as adding and removing a rental disc, (but it is livable) and the time required to add titles to discs.  The player has to read the disc first, then you can input the info.

We bought it as a stop-gap until the Blu-ray/HD wars are over.  The up-convert works well enough for me, you can definetly tell a difference in quality.
