I'm at work right now (in northwest Misery) with several Mizzou alums, and I've tried to tell them that the elation they're having now is nothing compared to back-to-back national championships.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, my alma mater is nothing to brag about right now....

As a resident of Alabama for 12 years, and a Bama fan by marriage, I am somewhat unhappy so far........but as a born and raised North County St. Louis boy I am pretty excited......It's just really nice to see Mizzou doing so well......

It helps when you have a player intentionally kick a ball in an end-zone.

That said, my wife worked for MU-Columbia. After knowing what used to go one, I'm not an MU fan.

But I can't stand KU. Something about KU just pisses me off. I guess four years of living and going to school in Columbia and some things rub off on you.

The Tao of the Upset (TM) has been amazingly strong this year.

Ask LSU about that...

I'm not sure it's fair to call #4 beating #2 (which many thought was slightly over-rated anyway, due to their weak schedule) an "upset"

+1 unfortuneatly. I've seen this show before, the team that EVERYONE wants to win and play for the NC will get beat by BlowU, and then of course BlowU will end up the only big 12 team in the BCS and get blown out by somebody like Hawaii.

I thought them over-rated as well, but it didn't appear the MU defense could hold the KU offense for much of the fourth quarter. Makes me wonder if KU found their groove or the MU defense let up. Either way that could be a bad sign for the game against OU.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure either were "true" top-5 teams - but it's hard to say what exactly IS a top-5 team in this weird upset-prone season.

I have to agree. I think this season, more than any other, makes the case for a playoff system.

In reality ALL the top or supposedly top teams this year wouldn't be worth a pimple on the ass of the top teams in most years. None of this group could hang with some of USC's past teams, or Texas 05', Miami 01' LSU 03'. Never seen a season like this. I mean Kansas and Mizzou playing for a chance at the NC, good grief.

Oh for sure, and then we need to have wild card spots open so that Notra Dame always has a bowl opening.   And let's expand the season to 16 games and lets....

Shut to heck up already.  WE HAVE A PLAYOFF system.  It's these past 12weeks.  Stop your whinning girls.  GO MIZZO, GO OK, Go big 12.  and Dear Ohio State might just get lucky and still have a snowballs chance in hell.  Gosh I love college football.

They are #3 in the AP, #4 in the BCS.

And Mizzou played OK this year, KU played Mizzou.  They both have equally easy schedules.  If one was slightly overrated, the other was too.

He will work out fine..........soon as he rids himself of Mike Shula's screw ups.........and we will keep Major Applewhite..........soon as he gets some good players to coach, I expect them to do well........he is going to be a great OC..........you will have to find someone else to whoop A&M

This was due to MU's top secret strategy of:

1. Advance
2. Score
3. No matter what happens, keep doing 1 & 2

Also, KU defense was completely full of fail.
