Thats what I am saying wasted research mostly chasing pork funding. I have no problem with producers making a product that people want eg viagra. I do have a problem with public grants for things that do not benefit the nation/ public health |
Okay, think of how many times you complain about people having way more kids than they can afford. Now multiply that by a lot. Also, no research is ever wasted. You always discover more things that are used elsewhere. For example, Birth Control research was applied to cancer research, specifically uterean and ovarian cancers. |
For most of the stuff you listed, it's a free, competitive maket. I'd rather people vote with their $$$ rather than people on the interweb or the goobermint deciding what is "worthwhile". |
