The first time a Cub fan starts a thread like this, let me know.

I grew up blissfully unaware of the Cardinal fan mindset until I moved to Missouri.  Then suddenly I was informed of there was a "rivalry."  Hah!

Cub fans hate the Mets, but really barley notice the Cardinals exist.  I think that drives you folks nuts, and causes these post-season bits of jealousy on occasion.

Bartman was probably a Cardinal fan.

Uh-huh Cubs fans  are such docile folks. Ive never been treated so poorly by fans as I have been in Wrigley.

Cardinal fan mindset? Peter Gammons calls Cardinal fans as "being the best and most knowledgeable in the game"

Card and Cub fans both hate the Mets, both due in part to the Mets kicking both of our asses in the 80's.  And last year, I had my fair share of afrcom Cub fans complaining on and on about the Cards and how they "Shouldnt even be in the post-season" And also, I havnt told any Cubs fans in this thread to "Blow me."

I love my team. only one real "star" Vlad... but a GREAT manager and a lot of unnoticed, and really solid players. Figgins, (Choney) Cabrerra, (OC) REGGIE, (Willits) Maicer, (mighty Mouse)  and GA (Anderson) having the season of his life, in the twilight of his career.

I hate that we have the Sox, in the best of 5 first round.

You know not what you speak of.  Cubs fans IMO were the most outright dirtiest fans that the Cards had to face....until the Chi Sox won their championship....talk about bandwagon fans and outright stupidity.

Just kidding.  Rockies are looking damn good.  So far all my bets are going well.  One of them was a case a beer that the Cubs would get swept this round.....still crossing my fingers.  Lou is a dumbass for not keeping Marquis in the rotation.  Granted I'm no fan of Marquis as he is quite inconsistent but when your team has the most wins all season w/ him pitching and he's the guy w/ the most post season experience in your rotation....you don't move him to the fucking bullpen.

Anyways....I'm pullin for the Rockies.  They deserve it w/ their late season push.

"Pissed off"

How could I be "pissed off?"  Even if we lost the next game, we had a great season.  I remember each Cubs championship fondly, since 1984 when I was just a wee lad.

I would be the first to say that there are no doubt thousands of Cub fans who are grade A assholes.  Of course, most of them didn't do to games when they weren't winning.  So, their ability to call themselves "Cub Fans" is questionable.

I think we can all agree that the city of Chicago is chock full of assholes.  Many assholes, by nature, like to ride bandwagons.

In a way, I prefer when they are losing - the fans at Wrigley are a better quality.

Bottom line is, this thread is frighteningly akin to the Fred Thompson bashing threads from the Ron Paul Crowd.

Did any Cub fan EVER even comment on the playoff games the Cardinal have played these last several years?  You guy admit they have been in many of them.

Find me ONE "gloat" thread in the archives, from a purported Cub fan, about a Cardinal loss in the post-season, and I will concede your point.  Until then, Cardinal fans will always be the snotty little brother who whines to daddy about all the fuss when the Prodigal Son returns.  They will always be the brat who tells the same joke 5 times in a row, assuming the the reason nobody laughed is because nobody heard them.

plenty of ppl I know around the WIU campus who the majority are Cubs fans (50+% of this school consists of students from Chicago) have talked plenty of smack about how the Cards got swept by the Sox in the '04 Series....how they looked like shit in the '05 playoffs and how last year they never deserved the Series.....How it was gonna be just like '04 and Detroit was gonna rock the Cards....blah blah blah.

Every team has it's asshole fans but if you lived in IL in this day and age I think you would retract a majority of your comments about Cards fans being worse than Cubs fans.

Anyways...good discussion.

TLR? Supposedly the StL front office promised to add 15million to the payroll and if that happens they get some more starters, I think he will stay to manage in St.Louis.
