That's about what they sell for on gunbroker, etc.

Actually, I think it's the green ones, or whatever the alternate color was, that are worth money, not the black ones.

the black and nickle ones fetch decent money too well compared to the 60-90 they used to bring......

I've got a black/stainless one.  Two just like mine on GB for a whopping $100.  I also have a Sears & Roebuck .22 which is in awesome shape.  Its worth a whopping $100 also.  I have an awesome collection of mediocre weapons.  The only one worth a chunk, well, other than my MP5 clone SBR, is a Browning Sweet 16 from like '68 or so.

Damn, I remember when you could buy a Nylon 66 for $50.00 at OTASCO stores, right next to the tires.

I used to have an FIE knockoff. I think it was like $60 new. Still, it was a decent little rifle. I just didn't like the tubular magazin in the butstock. I wish I hadn't sold it.

I have one of the Apache 77 Senecca green Remingtons made for one year for a contract with Kmart.
It only has a few hundred rounds thru it. Looks like new.

Too bad Kmart sold out with the likes of Rosie Odonell. They had a lot of my business until then, but not anymore.

My first rifle was a Nylon 66... when given to me, i was told that it had been appraised at ~1000.  Supposedly this was due to the fact that it was an early production model or something.  Now, Im still not sure whether this was just a story to make my young self take good care of it or not.  Either way, I don't plan on selling it

My first rifle was the brown Nylon 66.

I could kick myself that I sold it.

I've still got my brown 66(Mohawk I think?). It's old enough to NOT have a serial number on the sheet metal receiver cover. I bought it used for about $35 in 1968 or thereabouts.
I remember an American Rifleman Cover from some years back(15-20?) that had about 6 Nylons on the cover. They included the brown, black, clip fed, bolt action and lever action. I believe it said that was the first lever action or possibly the only lever action Remington had ever made at that time.
Anyone out there got one of or ever seen the lever or bolt action nylons? I'm working from memory, I guess you could Google it and find out more.

$89 in IIRC 1980, can't think of any reason I'd ever part with it
