I have a question about the A/C in my house.  Right where the filter and thermostat sit, and the two rooms next to it are freezing cold, but the rest of the house is warm or hot.  Even the bedroom right next to the room I'm in now (freezing room) is a different temperature.  It's as if the A/C exhausts all it's cold air around the intake vent leaving none for the rest  of the house.  The landlord said the A/C unit is brand new, which it seems to be, but is it possible it's not the right size or rating??  I've never lived anywhere like this before.  The unit looks plenty big enough, but I no nothing about A/C technology.

Thanks.

It sounds like they never "Balanced" the system OR you may have kinked or disconnected ducts. If it is a new system, have the AC guys come back and balance or repair the system... should be covered under warranty if it is new.

More than likely a lazy company installed the new unit and did not cut the holes for the ducts big enough for the size ducts.  They may very well not have sealed them well.  Some older systems have an adjustable flap at the beginning of some runs.  These can be adjusted so as to meter to flow.  It is a problem that your landlord is responsible for taking care of.

Yep, airflow problem. either the ductwork is fubar or it just needs the dampers adjusted so airflow is even in all rooms.
