slept on "pallets" at your grandparent's house when you were kids? I have two of my grandchildren sleeping over tonight, and they brought their sleeping bags. I and my siblings and cousins always slept on "pallets", basically just blankets and sheets, on the floor. How 'bout ya'll?

Never at my grandparents' house, but I did sleep on some pallets in the Army a few times.

Always had a bed myself.

Sleepovers at friend's houses were a different story. We just slept wherever we dropped for the most part.

In the attic, but ON what? A mattress, or sheets and blankets on the floor? Our pallets happened to be in the living room, but that was the biggest room, able to put all the younguns in one place. I seem to remember about 10 or 12 of us sleeping there once or twice.

We used to sleep in the attic when my cousins stayed the night. It was great. We would stay up late reading comic books under a bare light bulb.

We slept in sleeping bags on the bare wood floor.

Grandma made the pallets up for us also.

No pallets, but I did sleep on my grandfathers cot from WWII.

God I miss him

Never ever heard the term "pallets" when refering to blankets+floor combo.

Sleeping on the floor is sleeping on the floor.  That is what it is called.
