I own a business in the downtown area of my city. I am located on the corner of a very busy intersection. I have a 400 square foot room in the rear of my business that opens onto a side street. This side street gets fairly heavy vehicle and foot traffic throughout the day. There is no convenience store or snack shop in the downtown area. There is a coffee shop across the street from my business, but it is a Starbucks type environment. I am considering buying a few vending machines and putting them in my back room. I would open the door on the side street and put out a sign that says "Snack Shack" or "Snack Spot" or whatever. I would also make all of the downtown businesses aware of what I am doing. I can easily monitor the back room from my business, so I wouldn't have any problems with vandals. There are also 10 or so apartments in the area. What do you guys think? Do any of you have experience with a vending business? There is nowhere downtown to get a drink or a snack now, and my back room is not being used.
