My first attempt at a dinner pic thread.  I must appologize that i don't own a stampler or paper napkins.

Heres what your looking at:
bacon wrapped filet in a worshtishire(sp?) dijon mustard and fresh ground black pepper sauce, snow crab w/ old bay, corn and shrimp( known in some circles as Skrimps), melted butter with garlic and old bay.  Bud Select to drink (my monthly beer)

Wilson CQB w/speedchute
Andrews leather McDaniel II IWB
Kim-tac mags w/ 230grn Winchester Rangers
Spyderco Endura II
Gerber Applegate-Fairbairn w/sharpened false edge (done by me)
and just outta view, for my viewing pleasure a copy of Lonesome Dove I piced up at Wal-mart today for $9.99

Deduction is for Bud. (personal dislike, but hey, I'm the one scoring it. )

Otherwise, nice dinner.

Crab legs are one thing I have never cooked but always wanted too.  How would I go about doing that?

steaming is the key!...or you can broil or grill it.

here is a really easy way to do it:

Steamed Alaskan King Crab Claws
Recipe courtesy Alton Brown
6 Alaskan king crab claws, thawed
2 sprigs dill

If necessary in order to fit in microwave, cut claws at joints. Wrap 3 claws at a time in a damp paper towel, along with 1 sprig of dill, and then wrap in plastic wrap. Place wrapped claws in microwave 1 package at a time and cook on high for 2 minutes. Remove and unwrap carefully. Serve immediately.

I'ld just like to add that the crab is not overcooked.  It was dark when I bought them but in no way did it effect the flavor.  Some times the legs just have a dark coat of something on them.  Don't know what it is but it doesnt have any bearing on the flavor and you don't eat it so who cares.

The way I cook them is this:

Put crab leg clusters in a covered container with about 1/2 of water and a bunch of old bay.  I throw sweet corn cobbetts in there too.  Cook in the oven for about 20 minutes at 450degrees.  You'll be able to tell when the corn is done and when its done so is the crab.  Serve with melted butter with old bay and minced garlic. MMMMMmmmmmm good.

Thanks for all the possitive comments guys.

the reason I say that they are overcooked is that it looks like they have water taken into the meat.

overcooked may not have be appropriate to say.

Nicely done.  And you don't need any silly ass staplers or tape measures, those'll get you an automatic 0.

This, however, is a solid 8.5 - nice job.

As I understand it, lordtrader's dinner pic was mac & cheese and a Glock.  No staplers or tape measures.

No, had prepared a somewhat impressive meal fpr a bachelor and decided to share.

I thought it was something like he posted a pic of his dinner, someone asked him what it had to do with guns, so he took another picture with a gun and the dinner pic was born.

Besides, staplers and tape measures and all that other silly junk are just a distraction for bad food.  You can't eat staplers or tape measures, nor can you fight off the dinner zombies with them.
