I suspect that the vast majority of police snipers are ex-military snipers. I doubt that 'police sniper' is a primary task for many of them. They're probably regular cops/SWAT with sniper duties as necessary. I don't think you're going to find a job as a police sniper where you spend 40 hours/week on rooftops with bad guys in your crosshairs. I'd recommend you practice your shooting - a lot - then join the Army or Marines and shoot as well as you possibly can at every opportunity. If you become a sniper (and make it through your term of service in good health) then you can start looking for a job as civilian LEO/sniper. Good luck. There are probably more guys on NFL rosters than there are police snipers in the US, so your odds are pretty long... |
You hang around over there? My handle on the hide is MarcT. Regarding police shots over 100 yards. Just because it doesn't happen often doesnt mean you shouldn't practice for it. I think one of the requirements for being a sniper with the Québec provincial police is to be able to maintain at least MOA out to 400yards. |
I once did a guy in Laos from 1000 yards out, in high winds... Ask me whatever you would like to know, I'll be more than happy to help. |
Are you Shadow Company? I met some of you Shadow Company pussies in Saigon in '69. |
And another in AR-15: help with sniping |
Baby steps, dude. First learn the ins and outs of capital letters. Then do the whole sniping thing. |
![]() Just what i was thinking... I didn't want to come right out and say it, though. Don't worry, school will be back in session soon. |
