Meh, Nothing to be proud of for sure. When I was a kid my folks would take us down to J.L. Hudson at Christmas time to see Santa. The Christmas Village was awsome/magical. It was an incredible shopping experience. the '67 riots killed anything good that ever came out of Detroit. J.L Hudson's was no exception. RIP |

Not from Austin, but I've ran across his vids and his site in my adventures on the intraweb. I didn't realize he was from Austin. I agree the guy is a loon. I guess he is doing his part to keep Austin weird.

True but the People Mover was damn close to the building in places, IIRC within 15 feet if not less of the JL Hudson building. That's insanely close to a building that's going to be coming down, they anticipated damage as the scheduled the People Mover to be down for maintenance around the demolition date. As kids we were taken there many times for their Christmas display, the Sanders Ice Cream Soda fountain Shop there was an extra treat. Happy times. |
