Just curious as to what credit cards you have, such as bank, points/rebates/miles/etc cards and how happy you are with them. I'm looking for something with cash back or rebates, or similar. I do not need miles, and I'm not worried about the interest rate too much, as its paid in full each month. Credit score is in the good to excellent range, most probably excellent. |

discover is the best. 1% cashback on everything with rewards coming on your statement or put in your bank account at the end of the month. all you have to do is reach at least $20 to redeem. there are also 5% things you enroll in 4 times a year. also added to your monthly statement. although you should not carry a balance(hint pay it off every month) the intro apr is pretty good. I believe it is 11.99%. This isnt important for everyone but at the same time you may lose your job and you dont want to pay insane interest. |
I used to use that one Found another that gave me 1% back on everything, then the one I have now. Perfer cash to spend everywhere instead of being locked to one place. Also one isnt close |
Heres the kicker, merchants have discovered by doing millions of dollars worth of research a peculiar phenomenon. The average person spends 12-15% more when using a credit card vs. cash. When McD's put in credit card readers, the average ticket went from $5+ to over $6+ per person. Also plastic just doesn't register in the human mind as much as passing out cash. Watching those greenbacks flow from your wallet into someones elses hand is an emotional ecperience to say the least. It makes you evaluate wants vs. needs a little clearer. Cash back and no balance, you still aren't winning. |

Mr.Clean, love ya baby, but there is nothing wrong with utilizing CCs if you pay the balance each month. In fact, there are significant rewards to be had. I have a Costco Amex, BP Platinum MC and a USAA Platinum Visa. Each is unique in it's reward structure, and so are used for different purchases. If I am making a major purchase, even when I *have* the cash, I'll use a CC first, then wire payment that day. Why in the hell not? Same as cash, but get the points. As well, for major appliance purchases, I'll use my Lowe's or Home Depot accounts for a same as cash 6/12 months deal. Why in the hell not? They wanna give me stuff for running their card through so they can charge the merchant their fee or let me sit on their cash for a year for free? Well, OK. I'll take it! |
Man, you *DON'T* know me, do ya! ![]() I did a Ch.13 bankruptcy at age 19, it taught me a VERY important lesson. It took years to recover, but I paid all of my debts, as I should have, and had to rebuild. For years I have been +800, and enjoy the responsible use of credit that those types of scores afford me. Having done what I did, it actually almost makes me physically sick when I'm dragging what feels like too much debt, until it's paid off. CCs, anyhow. I'll be married to a house and car payments forever. |
Im wierd possibly even defective, I see it as the same money to me. I'll spend a mass of change quick though. McDs its double cheeseburger and big ol bastard fry. |
+1 If you save up $200 in rewards they send you a check for $250. I charge everything I can (including phone bills etc) on the card and pay it off each month in full. I don't think they're offering the $250 sign-up bonus anymore though. |
Well in that case ![]() No payments here, I even prepay my utilities. I've become a money "fudd" Here's the rules for buying anything at our house, one or more must apply. #1 It must be used often, not daily always, but often enough to warrant the expense. #2 It must go up in value or break even. #3 It must provide happiness to us or others. #4 Any expense over $500 will be determined by us to be either a want or a need. Wants are discussed and budgeted for. Upon approval by both it can be purchased. |
Im waiting on it next time. I thought it was a too good to be ture offer, but it worked out. Next time they do it Im going to get a few others I know to look into it |

Discover here. I like the cashback that you can redeem($20 minimum) to your account as payment as soon as it's available in your statement. I billpay the entire amount a week before the due date. I definitely don't buy more than I need. I only go to the store when I need to buy something. |
