A coed at Villanova University reported being raped by 3 football players taking summer classes.

No pics of the perps, but I bet it's a no-brainer what they look like, and ugly as hell.

Though the charges are so far unsubstantiated they already got kicked out of school

That IMO is absurd

Rape angers me.

Rape is "me bigger, more powerful..."

Rape is a corruption of a very beautiful thing.

Violent Rape makes me wish we could, once true guilt was established, feed the perpetrator into a spinning wood chipper centimeter by centimeter.

Not much info. to the story...

Could be a number of possibilities...

One, she was flirting with them...

Two, she "regretted" it...

Last but not the least, she was actually raped...

I see your point, but thing is I know many, many, many cases where jocks have gotten away clean when overwhelming evidence was against them.

Schools tend to cover up rapes by jocks because

1. Don't want to make ANYTHING public.  Even if they do the right thing, bad publicity will be out

2. Jocks and school sports increases a school's prestige and visibility.  Their supposed rape victims only make the school look bad.

Needless to say, rape victims were encouraged to NOT tell the police, and only go to school, which would lead on the girls promising they'd do something... then sweep everything under the rug after all the evidence was no longer around.

fuckers.

Typical frat party situation.  Get girl drunk til she is about to pass out (or use drug in drink).  Then run a train on her.  Happens too many times and it is usually the jocks or the rich kids doing it.  Because of that (and the school trying to "protect" their reputation) that these things go unreported/unprosecuted.

On the other hand, some times it is a case of regret or extortion.  So, until more evidence is available, I will withhold judgement on this case.

Unless of course the jocks in question were white and then they'd be asked to leave as in the Duke case.

I've been associated with various university campuses in one capacity or another, as a student or employee, for nearly 16 years. It's common knowledge on many, if not most, university campuses that girls stupid enough to get drunk with football/basketball players run a high risk of getting raped. Frankly, it's a common occurrence. Many cases don't make nationwide news. It makes one wonder how many cases are never reported at all. Regardless, there are no small number of cases where the perps are convicted and sentenced.

A large number of the football players at the universities where I've been were simply inner city thugs, no more, no less. You don't hear of this crap happening very often with the track team or the golf players.

While that is true, it also comes across as a bit paternalistic.  As long as we're equally enthusiastic about protecting little boys *and* little girls from rape, it's not enough to get bent about, though.

However, a warped sense of the above is the fodder for a lot of honor killings.

And speaking of which, I depart from a lot of ppl who have a huge problem with honor killings in that I agree with one aspect of the father's/family's mindset.  Rape is a property crime.

However, I immediately depart from the shitbags at that point . They (the fathers and families) are completely mistaken when they assume it's *their* property that was violated.

If [God forbid] either my son or daughter were raped, I wouldn't look on them as "corrupt" (I know that's not what you were trying to say/imply, but I'm taking this on an anti-honor killing tangent).

The ire of "honor killers" is completely misdirected.

Something to keep in mind:

College campuses get a lot of rape reports. The overwhelming majority prove false.

One should reserve judgment in this case because there is a high probability that it is a false report.
