I bought a variety pack and though the onyl one i could down without making a face was the pitch black one.

Just not a big fan of their stuff.

The original is tolerable.

Their Double Bock is a favorite of mine.

I've never had the summer ale though.

$14/12 isn't a bad deal at all for a specialty and a seasonal beer.  I've seen 4 packs of 11.something oz specialties for over 13 bucks!

Dogfishhead somethingorother this past winter.

Sam's summer is the only "expensive" thing I'd order at the bar.  I find it quite tasty with a slice of orange.

I bought a variety pack at costco, 24 for $23. It came with Boston lager, Boston lager light, Hefeweizen, Summer Ale, and Cherry Wheat. They were all pretty good, even though I'm more of a fan of darker beers. For a light beer, the Sam Adams light was even drinkable.

I sampled some of the Summer Ale last week and liked it.

Doesn't need an orange (or lime or any other fruit).

I'm a Miller Lite fan, ya I know it's a lite beer, but I like that beer for just chillin and relaxing outside on the deck or something. It doesn't cost that much which is nice if your on a budget.

The Summer Ale I like with a nice steak or something to that extent.

I tried a Boston Lager, didn't like it, too much hops.   I'll stick to Franziskaner Hefeweizen.

I did have an excellent ale up in Maine a few weeks ago, Shipyard Export Ale, very tasty!!!

I like the summer ale a lot, the best of the Sammy brews IMO.

THe summer ale is a fine choice.  It has a wheaty flavor with some spicy-fruity note.

I tried it with fruit (orange), but I like it in a nice frozen mug or the bottle has to be cold.
