Just finished the book COLD ZERO about the FBI HRT, I read up on Ruby Ridge afterwards & compared it to the authors version , anyone else think the FBI messed up?

Or read how the FBI brought down Gotti. No local police force would have had the ability or balls to do it. With the few things they've gotten wrong, they've gotten a lot of things right. Not so with the BATFE. |
Citizen & i constantly worry about the state of the UK, i'm just looking for opinions not a fight. |
me neither I just think the surveillance of England sucks, and the majority of citizens don't like it either. |
+1, England sucks fullstop |

If you read the whole book, you should bill that author for time. It was a badly written POS, from a FBI sniper, who was (surprise!) a former speechwriter. I've heard the FBI described as good people, trapped in a bad organization. I personally think it has much to do with the inherent failings of any bureaucracy, but much to do with the variety of somewhat contradictory missions that have been dumped on over time. They really haven't decided if they are an intelligence agency, or criminal investigation one. Or, I should say, missions that the FBI managed to wrangle away from less bureaucratically adept competitors. However, often the FBI doesn't have the talent in-house. That said, if I committed a crime I wouldn't want them chasing me. |
