I moved back in with my parents after graduating while I work and wait to hear back on post-grad jobs. I would like to keep my mail separate from their mail, specifically gun parts.* I am finishing up my retro build, and I have a few packages I will need to recieve. My question is, if I get a USPS PO Box, does UPS, Fed-Ex, or whomeever deliver to the post office? If so, will my box need to be big enough to accomodate those packages, or will I get a slip in my box that I hand in at the desk? *While they are not anti-gun per se, they do not like any un-secured weapons in the house, and they feel I have no reason to have a key to the safe. Basically, the guns that I have bought and they knew about went into the safe and I rarely fire or see them. So, I have a few guns stashed in my room, a few more at a friends house, and some more in my locker at work. The other issue is finances - they feel the money i earn (even my recreation budget) should be spent on things other than the shooting sports. |
amazingly the only entity that can deliver to P.O. Boxes....is the Post Office. |

Lame. ![]() Had my own place up in PA, but after I graduated there was no reason to stay there. With the money I make as a greenskeeper, after rent, electric bill, car insurance, and gas, there isn't enough for the grocery bill. ![]() It was good financial sense to move back in for the short term, as my (hopeful) post-grad job will be taking me to a new state. |
I can't believe he even asked that question.

UPS and Fed-Ex won't deliver to any post box located at a post office. However, most PRIVATE Mom-and-Pop post box rental places will gladly accept packages from UPS, Fed-Ex, etc. - hold them for you to pick up if the packages are too big for the box - and typically take much better care of their customers than the averagel USPS employee anyway. Also, many UPS Stores now offer mail box rental - IIRC, they'll accept delivery from all 3 carrriers. |
21, turning 22 shortly. They are worried I will get into legal trouble if I get pulled over to/from the range. Improper storage, having my guns confiscated - not because any laws were broken, but because some rookie cop thought he hit the jackpot. MD is not known for its firearms friendly reputation, and my post-grad job is in LE, so they have been understandably paranoid about some things. |
Thats what I like to hear. I don't want to hit any of my friends up to let me have it sent to their place, and I don't like using work to have personal stuff shipped to. |

Ive had a PO box for the last 20 years. I have my ammo and larger stuff sent to my phys. add. but small stuff such as WOA triggers I have sent to the PO box. If larger items come to the PO box such as large boxes and such , they stick a key in my PO box that I have to take over to the lockers about 30 feet away and open the larger box and pick up the package. The key only opens the box once and I take my package and the key stays in the locker . I think if its to large for the locker they will leave you a note to pick it up at the counter. Easy as pie |
