Here's one for the married guys.

I was discussing this at work with a few of the fellas yesterday and thought I would pose it to arfcom.

Whenever you do something out of the ordinary for your wife or S.O., or when you end up sacrificing something important to you for her, does she ever say "I'll make it up to you, I promise"?

And does she ever make it up to you (whether it be sex or whatever)?

Or does the whole thing just end up being forgotten about?

It's all about balance and compromise, makes things very easy.

There is give and take in any relationship. It doesn't require "payback".

Do you know how much stuff was promised to me to be 'made up' by the end of my marriage? I burns my ass just thinking about it.

Do what you need to do, but don't expect a payback. It makes the relationship less one-sided and if you care enough to sacrifice, you don't need a payback.

I have been married ten years if I have learned anything.
Do not keep score

I do things for my wife not expecting things in return, that way I am never let down if things dont go the way I expected.

Expectations are future resentments...
