| anyone seen the trailer? |
Yes, last night. What I hear is that it's going to be a giant-monster movie shown entirely from the POV of hand-held video cameras of people in NYC during the attack. Kind of the Blair Godzilla Project, to quote someone else. |
sweet sweetness. so you never see the monster in the trailer? |
Nope. BTW, Cloverfield is just a code name. The movie doesn't have an official title yet. |

It was the last preview before the "Transformers" movie; starts innocently enough, as a homemade video of a going away party for a guy and as the video progresses, suddenly there's a huge roar in the background, followed by the lights flickering; camera cuts to a TV news report and everyone confused; cuts again to the balcony of the apartment in NYC, where the party is being held, then the camera pans to a huge explosion near the Empire State Building, followed by debris flying all over the place; then it is followed by several flashes of the camera as panicked partygoers exit the building into the street and as everyone begins to wonder WTF is going on, another loud roar is heard and a huge object is flung from beyond the screen and into the street in front of the camera; it is the severed and mangled head of the Statue Of Liberty and as a guy int he backgound starts creaming "OMFG!" the video is cut off and the date 01/18/08 shows up. www.youtube.com/watch?v=luZzNPGSvWo As the video was being leaked out; Paramount Pictures immediately went on "Damage Control Mode" and started pulling the Video out of sites like Youtube and Liveleak citing "Copyright Infringement"; sounds like Paramount is trying to keep the lid on this one... BUT TOO LATE!!! It seems that the movie is going to be about a monster attacking and destroying New York City, a la Godzilla, and according to the rumor mill, everything will be filmed using home video cameras, a la Blair Witch Project. Ooh! Sounds interesting. |
