Went to the outback last night to celebrate my new employment, plus the wife had never had a bloom'in onion. The first onion was a little darker than usual and tasted burnt/overcooked. We asked for another and the second one was a little better but didn't taste right. My wife use to be a manager at burger king way back and thought that they hadn't changed the oil in the fryer. Anyways, we ate part of it and had our meals which was almost 45min later, not to mention the service was lousy. Neither one of us could finish our meal due to the onions delayed effect. By the time we left my stomach was making noises I hadn't heard since I drank the water in Saudi Arabia. If the toilet hadn't been make of porcelain it would be destroyed by now. I almost threw up last night and this morning I punished the toilet one more time. The wife wasn't effected as badly but she was a little ill. I dropped $65 bucks last night and walked out of the restaurant pissed off but I kept my tongue at bay, but now I'm really pissed off! I'm thinking of going back, talking to a manager and ask for compensation or something. I've never dealt with this before but it doesn't seem right to let it stay unknown. Normally I just walk away from a situation like that and chalk it up to "I'll never go there again," but damnit, that's a lot of money! |
| Ive ate there quite a bit and always good stuff. The waitress usually has a drink on the table before mine runs out and loafs of bread constant. I would go see if they will make it right. Its amazing how much a chain store can vary from place to place. Even accross town there are huge differences |
Unfortunately I wasn't aware of the full effect till I got home. I assume that's how it usually happens.
Oh I'll be leaving it up to them to make it right, but if they try to send me along w/o compensation I'm going to make my intentions known, and that is that compensation is in order. Whether it's food or any other service, you walk away with the expectation that it's suppose to be done right. Know what I mean? |

"Outback" is right. Next time send in 1GR. ![]() Seriously though - call the manager and let them know you both got bad-tasting meals AND both got serious food poisoning reactions right aftewards. And call your County Health Inspector and report the incident also. Maybe Jose and Paco didn't wash their hands after crossing the Rio on their way to work that night. |

I had a tab over $225 for my party of I dont know 6 or 8, and it took forever to get the order in, they want to get as much beverage money out of you as you can. The food seemed OK, but then it took forever to get the check. The reason for that is they have a policy (at that one, anyway) of having the manager bring the check on a larger party. The first thing he does is to ask about any problems, then he tells you they're adding on a mandatory 15%. There actually was a small issue with the disappearance of the waitress, and they were busy & I felt it to be not enough to mention - everyone has to take a crap once in a while, or maybe she stepped out for a smoke. No big deal. But the check delay was his fault. I really don't have a problem with the 15%, because otherwise sometimes the servers get screwed on the discretionary tightwads. But if she'd gotten the check to us timely whether through him or not, it would have been my usual 20%. |
