I got back from Morocco and had a great trip.  The worst part were the airports.  JFK is one of the worst run airports I have ever been through.

I took LOTS of pics and over the next few days I will make several posts with pics and explanations.

Beautiful country in places with a very different culture. GREAT weather.  I liked the food, hate most of the music.  People were very nice and accomodating.

All in all I would go back even if my wife's family was not there but I don't think I'd want to live there, even without the gun problem.  Although if it is really changing as fast as my wife says in 10 years or so I probably could, except for the gun thing of course.

You don't travel internationally much, do you?

Some, but I suppose not a lot.  Out of 3 trips JFK fucked up 4 times.  No other airport I've been through has been that bad.  Not even O'Hare.

On that note.  Atlanta's seems to be the best run for being so busy.

Try Milan, Italy or Karachi, Pakistan and get back to us.

I went to Morocco two summers ago.  It was pretty nice.  About 120 degrees in some places, but zero humidity so if felt a little better than here in Florida.

No.  I did go through the RIF however.  There are pretty serious about catching drug trafficers.

I stayed within 10 miles of the ocean except for one jaunt through the Rif.  So it never got above 85 for me.

Oh, and I forgot N'Djamena, Chad. The airport there makes any American attempts at inefficiency look like laser-guided robotic precision in comparison.

There is only one question about Morocco you need to answer.

What were the women like?

I'd imagine it goes something like this...

Morocco.

Where the men are men and the women are too!

I did quite a bit of people watching.  Unfortunately the hijab is "in fashion" right now but I was told it is on it's way out.

All the old women wore it, and about 80% of the over 30 did.  About 60% of the under 30 did and that is getting less every year I'm told.  Of course my wife and her sister never wore it.    There are zero repercussions for not wearing it.  No one looks at you wierd or says anything.

If you like brown hair and brown eyes the eye candy is very nice.  The (young) women there tend to dress like women and don't do the "just rolled out of bed" crap American girls do.  The only bad thing is about half cover their hair.

Wrong.  Sure there are plenty of ugly women, but you see that everywhere.  Most of the young ones try to look nice and are quite hot.  I do HATE the hijab however.

The real Somalia was just way too dangerous, the movie company built multiple block long sets.

That was my next question!

I'm glad you went, and can't wait to SEE the pictures.

Though... I think, knowing me, I'm going to have to critique the clothing choices there, especially if there are burkas involved!

I just don't think there are enough belts or accessories in the WORLD to make them "cute"

Don't know about Yemen gun laws, but their political stability is not so good.

Actually you can own a gun in Morocco.  Only smoothbore shotguns and light shot for ammo.  1000 round limit.  No self defense.  Police permission and registration.  They have a pretty large shooting club just outside Tangier.

In Yemen there is no enforced gun regulations that i could find on the internet, and NG supports that. But i guess they just passed a ban on carriying weapons in cities www.gunguys.com/?p=66

She has some Berber but mainly is Arabic.  She will be in some later pics I post.  Yes she is hot.  No you won't see her face.

Merci, les vacances fut très bien.  J'utilisai ma langue française beaucoup.

I can finally say, my French was better than their English.  I never got to say that in Quebec.
