I've got a Kawasaki 1600 classic with stock pipes on her & want to upgrade to a high quality pipe that had a deep throaty rumble & just sounds good.

What brand of pipe should I look at & where's a good place to get em from.

Never heard of Rhinehart or Hindle & it seems neither one makes exhaust systems for the 1600 classic.

rhinehart is affiliated with or is a subsidiary of BUB. if you cant find anything else V&H does make good exhaust systems and would be my choice if rhineharts werent available.

ARGH!!!!!!!!! Now it seems BUB does not make pipes for my bike

Are DG Hard Krome, Roadhouse or Cobra as good as the Vance & Hines Big Shots Staggered seem to be after a web search?

That's only in Denver Colorado round these parts & ya can bet I'll not be cruising in Denver any time soon

Now I just need to pick out a open carry holster & some kind of case to keep a M4gery in and ready to grab while riding

Don't forget to overlook the value of adding a Powercommander to the bike, after you modify the exhaust. Can't say enough about how getting the fueling right, can make your bike feel right a proper tool. Kind of like gunsmithing.

Jardine drag pipes,

got a set on order for my 800 vulcan,

the D&D kustoms/hard krome sound nice also, I think they're made by the same company and sold under different brand names, because they look the exact same.

I was originally looking at a set of V&H straitshots, but after I seen a set in a local shop I changed my mind, they have a shit load of flashing that'll have to cleaned off before they're assemble and installed, plus the flange had to be modified/ground to fit on my 05'.

That's down the road along with opening up the intake & letting her breath better. Figure for now it's just pipes though.

Only saying this because the bike is heavy ill handling and slow and always will be slow....its beter to be slow, quiet and clean; instead of slow loud and dirty.

what is this EPA you speak of?

i agree that the power commander is a great product and makes a lot of difference.
you should open up the breather when you put on the pipes or you wont have enough air coming in to balance out the larger amount of air going out.
also, if you dont do some tuning after installing the pipes and breather you'll end up with a bit of backfiring and runnability issues.

V&H for sure. High quality and fair price.

Vance and Hines.  Do it and be done.  Superior quality pipe at a good price.

Trying to describe a sound on the Internet is impossible.  If sound is your #1 priority (and without any other mods, sound will be the only change) I would suggest actually listening to whatever set up you're interested in.  One mans great sound will sound like shit to the next guy.  I've found Vance & Hines glass packed mufflers to be the most mellow performance muffler on a Harley and should be about the same on your cruiser.  The down side is that they are one of the most expensive manufacturers and the glass eventually burns out and must be replaced.
