My brother has a lead on a rifle and is looking for what it's worth. He says it's a Remington, model unknown, 300 win mag, syn stock, and either a Burris or Bushnell scope, probably a 3x9. They don't think it's more than 2 seasons old. Posted here for the higher traffic. Any info would be appreciated.

Floorplate? If so the possibilities are endless BDL, PSS, Sendero, etc. If not, ADL.

Burris or Bushnell? Big difference.

He said he hasn't seen it, just going by what he was told about it, just said it was a bolt.

If its a 700 500 or less would be good, maybe a little more if the scope is a Burris.

If its a 710 don't waste the money because the 710 is a giant piece of plastic shit, and most of them come mounted with Bushnell 3-9's so I'm thinking thats what it is.

No kidding--free is too much if it's one of those ^^^.

Although, didn't they only make those in .308 and/or .30/06?  I can't recall.

At work one of my buds father has a 710 in 30-06 and must have got lucky, his is a pretty good  shooter, I gave him some of my reloads and he was hitting coyotes at 175 yards offhand, maybe it was assembled in the middle of the week when the hangovers were gone.

If it turns out to be a 710 I'll warn him.
