Anyone else noticing their cingular phone not getting service anymore? I used to have full bars at my house, now i have "no service". Out in the San Fernando valley (LA), I used to get great reception everywhere, not it's spotty at best. My calls are getting dropped left and right. At campus, I used to get cell service everywhere. Now I have to stand in this one spot to get. And yes, the phone is fine and my service is paid for. |
i've been really happy with it up to this point. I live in a rural area and get reception everywhere. Not anymore. Complete dead zone. It sucks, cause I can't get calls at my house anymore cause most of my friends don't know my house number. |

Cingular / ATT is the absolute worst cell phone company in western WA. I switched my cell phone carrier from them to Verizon a few years ago .... smartest thing I ever did in the tele-com world. I would not go back if they offered me free service for life. Their phones / reception simply do not work worth a shit along the I-5 corridor in western WA / Seattle area. |
| You're in Kalifornia. Some group probably sued Cingular and forced them to turn off some towers citing a Swedish study of 4 mating pairs that indicated the cell frequencies may disrupt the mating habits of a species of grasshopper that has a spot in a different spot on it back than other grasshoppers. |

I had Cingular for my business cell, while my personal is Verizon. I travel the entire country for my job so I really get a good idea of cell coverage. My cingular phone dropped almost every single call I recieved while I was moving. It was so bad that I had to call customers back on my personal cell to finish conversations because I couldn't stop to talk to every single person. Their coverage is so bad that I had my company switch to Verizon. I have been very pleased ever since. They are definitely not perfect, but I get a heck of alot more done while on the move now. I checked my cingular cell against a couple of friends phones and the signal was the same at all time. I bet that they would not have faired better. |

I use Cingular and I had a phone conversation earlier today with a friend. No problems, but I do need to recharge my phone a little sooner than I planned.
