Just wacked #s 14&15. Damn things are all over. #14 & #15 ran up a tree, #14 stopped and looked back, big mistake. 12ga, #6 shot, but he bit down on a twig as he was falling, now he's hanging up there about 25' in the air by his mouth. #15 hauled ass, I got about thirty yards ahead of him & waited till he got to the jump across the open area, when he slowed to jump I busted his squirrely ass. Dogs are chowing down as I write. I'm using an old (1900ish) 12 ga double barrel, rabbit ears, 28" barrels, full choke. Still a great gun but I have to use low power loads  to be safe. Perfect for squirrels and such.

God I hate cute, furry, defenseless creatures.

It's their own fault for tasting good... the fuckers.

Was beer involved?

This post has beer written all over it.

Nope, no beer. I'm not too bright but I'm not stupid. Squirrels don't like beer anyway.

Do you have to kill them?

That sounds horrible!

Why can't you do this instead

Wait till one goes kamikaze, crawls in your attic and down a wall, and dies!

Perfect.  I usually use a 20s-30s era 20 gauge side by side for squirrels.  Guns like those are perfect for them.  They feel so classic and "right" in the hands.

For whatever reason, the squirrel population in NH has been huge this spring.

I had one give birth to baby squirrels under my car last Friday.  One baby fell in my driveway and started squeaking,  another one fell out as I pulled out of my work parking lot, and another survived a 180 mile drive to Maine, as I could hear it squeaking under the car when I got there.
