Same as yours.  If I'm not using Royal Oak I'm using genuine apple or hickory.

That is good stuff (Royal Oak).

But I'm lazy and use Kingsford Matchlite with mesquite. I also add extra mesquite chips.

I use the same Royal Oak and I also use Kingsford and also the big briquets that WalMart sells.  The part that makes my barbecue and smoked meats great is the maple and hickory that I use, the charcoal is just for heat.

Like $3.99 a bag at Wally world. Cheapest they have and the best.

I use Cowboy Brand hardwood lump, only because that's all thats available in my area other than briquettes. I only use charcoal when I need heat, otherwise it's oak, hickory, apple, or cherry logs that I have.

I use the large bags of Kingsford. Never match light, YUCK!  Makes my food taste like butane. I've never explored the other premium brands. Perhaps its time...
