Isn't it interesting that we have a president who when he was first running said he should be president because his dad was president. And now, while I don't think she has made such a claim, we have a woman running where her husband was president before.

It seems in the recent times at least, situations are repeating or are existing in similar format but people don't recognize them as such, see them instead as seperate incidents.

After someone in another post mentioned the current indoctrination that those with guns must be up to no good, I considered my position. Well, I have the guns, the databases, I practice, etc.. ...... all primarily because I'm in a security branch of a sorts (research). I got into this position because during the early 90's, I looked around and "My God! The place is turning into a police state!" .............(therefore, be part of the police).

But that was a democractic administration. Came the republican administration and did it change the other way? Not really, the place became more of the state, more uptight, more power to the feds to lock up, enforce. There may have been "a reason", but the tightening was still there.

Now, it looks like we are swinging toward another democractic administration with more "loss of rights" on the way. It would seem not to be one or the other to safeguard what is the concept of the US but rather, finding how to stop the momentum.

Perhaps what we need is another godless Superpower, a Soviet Union, to remind us why we are the pillar of freedom.

One Godless superpower, coming up...

Interesting post.

I have noticed things are cyclical myself... Unfortunately I think the next swing to the Left is going to make the last one in the 90s look like a conservative rally.

Well, Nimrod, A, B, and C

A: You are entitled to your opinion.

B: With such a statement, I don't see a reason now to bother to research the request.

C: Regardless of whether or not he said that ................. it really isn't instrumental to the post in the first place.

Well, you did post it, and it is bullshit. You based the rest of your post on that statement, so...

Hmmm...I disagree. In my opinion the Democrats don't have anyone to run for President in '08. John Kerry was the only candidate they had that was even remotely electable and they've already shitcanned him. Al Gore is the only other clod they have that would even stand the remotest snowball's chance in hell of  getting elected and he isn't running.

The only, and I mean ONLY, chance the Democrats have of gaining the Oval Office is to dig up some scandal so fucking horrible that everyone in the country stays home on election day, and I don't see that happening.
