| What is your opinion on the value of refurbished electronics? Are refurbished electronics really as good as new on the inside with some possible minor cosmetic blemishes? |

I've never had a problem with the few items I've bought. Refurbished often is a term for returns that customers opened and either decided they didn't want or couldn't get to work. Nothing was essentially done to the item on return except checking for all the included pieces and seeing that it indeed did work. Often the only blem you will find is a fingerprint. ETA this is info from an Apple Store employee and applies mostly to their methods. I've bought a few items from Fry's that worked out OK too. Here's a typical explanation on refurbish. www.smalldog.com/refurb/wag20001 |

Ok... Here's the dilema: New Samsung Blackjack phone from Cingular for $175 Mail in rebate for $100 which takes 10 - 12 weeks to get in the form of a Visa Gift Card. Net price = $75 Refurbished Blackjack phone from Cingular for $50 That's the price. No rebate necessary. Both phones come with the same 1 year warranty. Phones usually last me a year and a half or so before they break or I upgrade. Which would you choose? |
