The McAfee anti-virus expired on my brand new laptop and I'd like to uninstall it.  I'm but a poor college student and cannot afford the nearly 70 bucks for a subscription.  However, it doesn't have an uninstall option and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to ditch it.

I'd like to opt for one of the many free anti-virus programs instead.

Thanks ahead for your help.

eta:  AVG is a free anti-virus.  Google for it.  It's better than mcafee ever was.

I recommend Free 90-day trial of Computer Associates Anti-Virus 2007

This is the anti-virus product that MS uses on it's own computers.  1 year subscription is $19.99.  Can be installed on up to 3 computers.  Great product.
