| I guess the gun was put in too positive of a light. |
Short attention span, eh? |
I can't speak for Lost or Jericho, but I did make an attempt to watch 24 a few times. It was silly pap. |
Yes. I don't enjoy being strung along for months on end. |
That would probably expalin me to some degree. I did not necessarily dislike the show, but it obviously didn't do much to catch my attention. A number of times I simply forgot it was on. As a matter of fact, in the first half of the season I only saw some of the episodes because I stumbled across CBS airing it for the second time of the week on Saturday night. It didn't help that sometimes I would see things in the show that made me think the writers are clueless lefty suburbanites - but even that wasn't enough to drive me away from the show. I think the relatively slow pace is what kept me from making it enough of a priority to actually remember it existed. It did at least serve as a good example to point out to people I know (especially those sheeple who buy into all the TV crap anyway) why you might want to own and know how to use something beyond hunting rifles. |

Here is another thread on this subject: The bad news is Jericho is probably going to be cancelled... |

That would be interesting, except I don't want to watch 'real life'. I have one of those. I want something that is entertaining, not drug out for as long as possible to increase ad revenue. |
Reminds me of marriage. |

I liked the show. It was really an interesting thought experiment of how such situations would play out. I got really pissed during the last episode when they fought off the other fighters, only to let them retreat. I kept yelling at the the tv!! |

The piss poor writting and 3 month break killed this show. Some of the esps looked like they were written by unemployeed soap opera hacks. How hard could it be to make a show set after SHTF interesting? The acting seemed good, the premise was good, the fricking storylines sucked. |
I don;t think so. I'm sure it was just a numbers thing. 24 is much more of a media lightning rod because of the torture and yet it has been renewed many times. I liked Jericho even though it was just ok in comparison to other better shows. |
There is that aspect of it. On the other hand, I have the previous seasons of 24 on DVD. It is pretty cool to pop in a DVD and watch the action back-to-back. Unfortunately, most of what is on TV now is shit anyway. 24, The Unit and Jericho were about all the network TV I watched. Now Jericho is gone apparently. We just don't have shows like Combat, Dallas, the Dukes of Hazzard, Hill Street Blues and the like any more. I could give a shit about American Idol or Survivor. Then of course you have talking head news shows like O'Reilly and Greta, but you can only stand so much of that. |

There are very few shows that my Wife and I can watch together. Three to be exact. Deadliest Catch CSI (Vegas and only Vegas) Jericho I was shocked that my wife did enjoy Jericho. She even started to ask the "what if" type of questions. I know she would never admit to thinking there was a chance in hell of anything like that ever happening. But I know she is not too upset that there is an AR in the safe with her name on it. Anyway, if CSI and Deadliest Catch ever get canceled I may as well put the TV on the curb and be done with it. Err....well...no. We still have the DVDs. It seems the better the quality of the picture the TV can produce (HiDef and all that) the crappier the content. Nothing like American Idol in Hi Def. ![]() Another one bites the dust. |
