Had a pretty new Ford F150 king cab, King's ranch edition catch on fire under the carport at work.  Engine fire.

Went out to get my fire extinguisher.  Went to fire, 6 guys standing back about 50 ft, some with fire extinguishers doing nothing.

There was a car parked right in front of the truck on fire.  So I used my f.e. on the engine and beat the fire down long enough for the real fireman to get there and handle the situation.

I saved the ladies car in front of the fire from getting damaged.

And now have to replace my used fire extinguisher.

Just a side note.  This fire extinguisher was a gift from EricTheHun (RIP BRO) for helping him move one of many times.

Interesting morning.

Glad everything turned out OK, well except for the truck owner

I doubt they care about your truck.

They were just there to prevent the fire from spreading.  (My guess.)

was not my truck, just one in the parking lot.

i was trying to save the car in front of it.  think I did, as the fire coming out of the front of the grill, I was able to put out.

Stop by the station next time you are in town.  I have some 'Junior Firefighter' badge I can give you.

TRG

PS.  I can also get you some "Be Safe around Matches" coloring books and pencils for your desk.

something to keep in mind for next time that comes up- the radiator support on many newer Ford trucks is made with magnesium.... no water!

other than that, good on ya for helping out!

Good job!

My truck burned a bunch of years ago - an older Chevy. It was not fun. Thankfully people helped out and called the fire department (I've never had a cellphone so I just had to sit and wait).

Had a similar incident at work ( Jail parking lot ) to a woman's car, she's a clerk

Anyway I was first there and had no Fire Ext in the truck so I called for asistance over the radio
We used about 10 or 15 assorted Fire Exts ( Water, ABC dry chem and CO2 )
For a minute it looked like it was under control but then it flared

We couldn't get the hood open, either the latch was broken or the fire disabled the latch

When the Vol Firemen arrived they took care of it in short order with the Pumper Truck

So now everytime I see a Jeep with those tiny Fire Exts strapped to the Roll bars I laugh

Car Fires are no joke !
