I've had it!!! I've had it with these morons who drive the cellphone and could care less about piloting the vehicle in a safe manner! I had TWO white-knuckle incidents today on the way home from work!......both morons knew they screwed up and turned early to get away from the rant at the next stoplight. WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! IF I GET HIT BY ONE OF THESE ASSHOLES I'M GOING TO SUE THEM UNTIL THEY FUCKING BLEED OUT OF THEIR EARS!!!! I'd even sue the cellphone company if I thought it would do any good! I hate this shit!!!! |
+eleventybillion Some people here loathe socialism, but fail to realize that all of the rules and regulations on the roads are socialist. And that's where your actions are more likely to affect other people than pretty much anywhere else. That's where we DO have the right, as a society, to dictate what you can/cannot do while you're operating a motor vehicle. Sorry, that's the way it is. |
Talking on a cell phone is part of my job. I cannot and will not stop every time somebody calls me. If that happened I would never make it to a customer. I use a bluetooth headset and the only time you will see me without it behind the wheel is immediately when I get into the car. Once I am ready to drive, the ear piece goes on and I am ready to drive. On rare occations, I will use my cell phone without it if I have to, but not very often. Now all the Bluetooth hating morons will come and flame me for using such a stupid looking device! |
HAHAHA... I WISH i could find a bluetooth for $10. Mind telling me where? I bought one on sale for $30 and I can barely hear it while standing in my room. Would never be able to hear it in a car. Most cost around $90+ |
Save $10 to be a danger to everyone else. ![]() Otherwise, I maintain minimum safe distance from a driver with one hand on the wheel and the other on the cell phone.

I almost got ran over by some bitch yapping on a cell phone as I was walking out of the grocery store today after work. There were two or three other people waiting to cross the street, she's steadily talking away, stops for a second at which point all of us think that she's gonna let us across the street. I take the first step out and she starts accelerating again, enough to put her bumper about two feet away from me before she slams on the brakes. And of course, she looks at me like I did something wrong.

I hope you find the $60 extra you saved worth your safety and that of others. If you could have saved $500 on you car by getting it without seatbelts would you have done that too? |
I'm looking at getting a good one now. I wasn't aware that it was a knockoff. I thought it was a sale item. Forgive me for looking for a deal. Wasn't my fault that it was a piece of crap. If I had known I would have sprung for a decent one. Get off your friggin high horse The point was where the frick are you goign to get one for $10. They cost $90 |

I usually refuse to talk on my cell while I'm driving... only do it for seriously important stuff. In the last month I think I've spent about 5 minutes on the phone while in my car, and that's usually while I'm looking for a place to pull over. I get paranoid talking on my phone while driving, kinda like when I first pick up a gun and haven't checked to see if it's loaded yet. I go into hyper-awareness because I know the potential dangers... sad to see so many people don't take the risks serious enough to double their attention to the road just in case. |
| I don't care if they talk on the cellphone, but if their first response to hearing a ring is to drop their speed by 15+ mph for the duration of their call without bother to get out of the fast lane then they'll deserve the eventual ramming they get when the do it front of some other numbnuts who's also paying more attention to their phone than the road. |
I got mine for $10. It is a Scala e500. It was $50, less a $40 rebate. The deals are out there, you just gotta look for them. My favorite site for finding deals is FatWallet's Hot Deal forum. |
| I have hand controls to drive, so there isn't anything else going on but driving when I'm on the road. I can reach over quickly and turn up/down the radio, but I don't even like doing this unless there is nobody around me. When you are doing nothing but driving, you get a lot of time to see what others are doing while THEY drive!!! Last year I saw a guy on a motorcycle get hit from behind so hard by a cell phone talking dipsit, it STUCK the motorcycle STANDING UP in the grill of her SUV. I was pissed because she was looking down in her lap while changing lanes when she hit him. I went back to the accident scene and waited AN HOUR to report what I saw and thought my head would explode watching her look like the poor vicitm...and then I found out she said the guy was stopped in the road!!!!! I'm glad I stuck around to get THAT story straight!! Even if I COULD talk on the phone (or anything else for that matter) it's just to damn dangerous to do!! |
