I'm not sure I've seen a poll as simple as this.

I really don't care if you don't.
I'm just curious how many people here actually carry.

I open carry.......

Everyday, every time.

Damn, I didn't consider that.

Mark that as CCW.  We'll include any kind of carry.  Even if it isn't legal for you to do so.
5/4/2007 6:09:38 PM EDT
[#4]
At the minimum, a S&W 642. All the time. No exceptions, until metal detectors get involved. Fuck gun free zones.
5/4/2007 6:09:42 PM EDT
[#5]
Yes. I even carry at home.
5/4/2007 6:10:14 PM EDT
[#6]
Always.
5/4/2007 6:10:25 PM EDT
[#7]
I've had my CCW for almost 10 years now.  I carry much less now than I used too, just depends on the situation.
5/4/2007 6:10:30 PM EDT
[#8]
I would if I could.
5/4/2007 6:10:32 PM EDT

maybe
5/4/2007 6:11:01 PM EDT
[#10]
yes i do.
5/4/2007 6:11:30 PM EDT
[#11]
nope, not legal.  for now i carry a knife.
5/4/2007 6:12:23 PM EDT
[#12]
I bet your poll will give deceiving results because I think people who do not carry will be less likely to vote than people who do.  Maybe not...that's just what I think.

I carry.
5/4/2007 6:13:32 PM EDT
[#13]
I carry both open and CCW.

Nevada is an open carry state and it is not uncommon to see people open carry where I live.

The big cities are another story. While it is legal to open carry in Vegas it is not in your best interest to do so unless you enjoy being questioned by police and having some sheeple freak out. That is when I CCW.
5/4/2007 6:13:32 PM EDT
[#14]
I have been known to.

I carry.

As I said, I don't really care if anyone doesn't carry.

We all have a rough idea of the vast number of people that post here.

I'm just curious about the number of people who actually take steps
to be prepared and are capable of defending themselves, or lending
defense to someone in need.

The ratio of "yes" to the number of people who visit this thread will give
everyone some idea.

(I carry too)

Didn't think of that.  That's an interesting way to analyze it.

5/4/2007 6:24:26 PM EDT
[#27]
Yes, since I got my permit in 2003.

I don't carry 100% of the time due to my job having a restriction on that, but I do when I can. I did tonight when I went to the supermarket.
5/4/2007 6:26:50 PM EDT
[#28]
Yes, sometimes. I'm getting lax when it comes to "holstering up". My main carry rig is a G19 in a Comp-tac IWB holster. I'd like to carry something a bit smaller to tell the truth though. I'm starting to look into snubnosed revolvers as an alternative. The G19 prints more than I'd prefer it to.

a sign on the door of our family business reads "Bad guys beware - CCW welcome here as long as they're holstered"  We let them know up front we're (staff and customers) strapped.  Never been robbed in 30 years of business, in a tough end of town where the neighboring businesses get robbed regularly.  Guess the word is out

sadly, many of the places I go are legally listed as  off limits for ccw in GA.  My carry weapon spends more time in my car than on me.

I don't carry in work though I probably should being in Cubeworld.

Gun is always in the car at work.

Once that clock hits 4:30 though its on.

G17 IWB right now.

I'm not sure where this is going but in 22 years of driving (and longer being a passenger) seatbelts have not yet saved my life but I'm not going to stop wearing them.

One thing i realized soon after getting my CCW is that it's actually a pain in the ass to carry a concealed pistol, especially in the summer. I'm not arguing that the ability to defend yourself is not worth a little discomfort, i'm just saying that carrying concealed is inconvenient compared to not carrying.

And there's no way in hell i'm wearing a damn fanny pack.

I CCW a lot less than when i first got my permit 3 years ago. Now i carry based on where i'm going. If i'm going to Detroit i always carry or at least i have a pistol in the glove box.

I also carry a lot more in the winter simply because it's easier with more clothes/winter coat.

If you don't know where it's going then you should refrain from assuming.

I was looking for a positive story.

I didn't assume, that's why there was a preface that made it plain as fucking day that I wasn't sure what you meant but wanted to comment anyway.

By saying "I'm not sure where this is going but..." it showed I was doing the exact opposite of assuming.  I was accepting that I didn’t know what you meant.

Although you're still right...If I don't know where it's going then I should refrain from assuming.  Good thing I DIDN'T assume.
