I've been banned at DU many times.. I still go back once in a while.... I think going there with Anonymizer sort of gives me away.. There are many DU'ers here on this forum and dozens of other gun forums.... trolling, lying and generally propagandizing those of us who are easy prey.. I think it's only fair we return the favor.. |

Well I used to be one... not too long ago either. 9/11 woke me up. I was vehemently anti-gun, pro-socialized everything, and mostly running on emotion rather than logic. After 9/11 my pastor suggested I get a shotgun to protect my family in the event that the anthrax scares or power grid failures going on at the time turned into something bigger. From there, I got a proper education in freedom, have enough guns to be Yosemite Sam's redneck cousin, and have changed all of my views to be based on actual reason and logic now. I guess I was hoping I wasn't the only one who could be woken up. |

I got banned for suggesting that the folks in NO should have heeded the warnings and gotten their own asses out of the area rather than depending on .gov. Apparently, self reliance is not an appreciated idea there... Fuck each and every one of them. They could greatly reduce their carbon footprint by eating an economy size bottle of asprin. |
Wow! A real convert. Glad you saw the light, but most of the people on the dark side can't be drug kicking and screaming into the light of reason. I used to think I was "liberal" in High School too, then I joined the .mil and wised up.

If you are a moderate and are inclined to conduct a RATIONAL discussion and fail to berate Republicans, Conservatives, and most especially our President and Vice President, you WILL be banned in short order. Even those democrats who are there and are SOMEWHAT moderate in their views have to take turns beating the Bush in order to stay in the good graces of the goat sodomizers who are the site's lords and masters, or they, too, will be banned. Oh, I don't know about that. Most Congresscritters are corrupt, cowardly, inept, and hopelessly out of touch with reality, but I don't think they come anywhere near the level of genuine malevolence and mental illness that is found at D.U. The Internet lends itself to reinforcing the self-perpetuating myths and fantasies of twisted, angry loners to begin with. One can just sit alone day after day, shut away from the world and have every bizarre, ignorant, dimwitted idea reinforced by other twisted, angry, hateful, self-righteous zealots. In my opinion it's very similar to joining a cult. These people invent their own reality. The Heaven's Gate bunch of wackos from a few years back springs to mind. |

Yep!  I thought about mentioning ARfcom but I thought the analogy wouldn't really hold up. On ARfcom you really are free to dissent from the majority opinion without being kicked off the site. Yeah, you'll be called names and so on, but then there will usually be a few people on your side, too.Or course, I think the concept of "groupthink" happens here, too. Anyone who just sits day after day and has their own version of reality reinforced by people who think exactly like they do is not likely, in my opinion, to have an objective viewpoint. |

they have their rules. been a while since i went by there just to see what it was all about. and its all about american marxism, socialism. and they state in their COC that you are to espouse and promote their views or you're out. as in banned.. it is not a site for arguments about what might be wrong with a marxist/socialist world view, it is simply a site to promote that view and rale against those who dont espouse their view.. get outside of that box and your are banned.
