Not currently working this semester, but I did recently use an Arfcom-ism on a HW assignment. It was on using energy methods to solve for strain/stress in bending and torsion of beams; in one problem, we were supposed to also calculate the "actual" answer based on bending theory and compare with the value found using energy methods. I didn't feel like taking the time to do that (running late), so I just made up a value. That value, of course, was "markm's number".
