We picked schedules at wrok, rank in picking is done by performance/tenure.

I got 1500-0000 Sat/Sun off. Someone else "needs it" for school. Wanted me to trade for 1000-1900 with 2 split weekdays off.

I said I'll do it for $100 a paycheck. $50 in differental Id lose and $50 for annoyance.

Now Im looked on as evil.

If their performance was on par or as high as your then they would've got first pick.

You don't have control over when they started working there as compared to your self.

If they "NEED" it that badly, they will pay or find another job.

Work is work, and nobody gives a shit about you there, so you shouldn't give a shit about anyone there either. I doubt he'd make the sacrifice for you, especially without the 50 or 100 dollar "fee".

You chose to have certain days off, someone else wants the same times off, thereby inconveniencing you. I would expect compensation for being inconvenienced.

Nope, I doubt it's "really" for school anyways. I NEVER found people who wanted to change shifts who would be honest about why they wanted it. Always lied and gave BS reasons.

I do business support, weekends are slow so are afternoons/evenings. More time to spend online.

Up until 1pm it sucks

2 things:

1. I wouldn't trade a schedule with 2 days in a row off for a split weekend

2. You're absolutely not wrong in wanting extra $$$ for it-heck, maybe even more
