For all of those hoping for a dark horse candidate, be aware that many states have changed their primaries to "move up" and make themselves more importantly. Its basically 23 states the week after the New Hampshire primary. So more then enough to decide the candidates. So a candidate pretty much needs to have enough organization and money to run a national campaign to win the primary, the "slow progression through the primaries one at a time" type of candidate is gone. We pretty much have to pick from the frontrunner's, deal with it. (note, I actually do like the idea of Fred Thompson but he simply doesn't have the resources to run a national campaign for the nomination, its pretty much a sure thing that we'll see a Guiliani ticket. Maybe a Guiliani Gingrich ticket if they want to stick to the Bush Cheney formula) |
