I challenge everyone to find 5 comments from any hunter or Fudd on a hunting only forum that is in support of the proposed AWB. Please do not bring me replies to a Zumbo blog or any of the other old crusty, hunting, one foot in the grave writers blog replies. I have presented this challenge because I read so much on this forum about how there are so many hunters or Fudds hurting the non-hunting gun enthusiast (EBR owners) with their comments in support of the AWB as long as they can keep their hunting rifle and shotgun. You see I don't believe this attitude is present in the ACTIVE hunting community of today. It appears to me that this is a creation of the non-hunting gun community (EBR owners, ARFCOM'ers) and in-turn they are the ones causing the divide. I'm not talking about 1993-94 I'm talking about now. |

Not a hunting website but a thread that you can read through on Honda-Tech where someone who is a gun owner and even has a CCW is stating that he would be willing to throw the AWBs to the dogs if he gets to keep his. In the end he agrees that he does not really want them banned but thinks that we need to make them harder to get to appease the grabbers. Not sure if you want this since it is not a hunting website but here you go. www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1905831&page=1 |
I typed in a website I've never heard of, but expected to find fudds at: deerhunting.com I was redirected to a site where I found a political sub-forum within 4 clicks of the mouse. Here: www.huntingnet.com//forum/tt.aspx?forumid=17 I think you'll find 5 fudds there....at least. |
this is the biggest problem. these people don't take it seriously as a "rights thing". they aren't networking, keeping abreast of new legislation, wirting their "representatives". it's a hobby to them. it may be a hobby that they enjoy quite a bit, but the anti-gun hunter isn't scouring the message boards looking for recent developments in legislation. as an aside, i know quite a few family friends from MA, all of whom are avid hunters, that'd i be happy to introduce you to if you feel like taking a long drive. i know it isn't an internet quote, but i'm hoping the real thing will be acceptable. |
actually, those guys seem to be much more "constitutionally conservative" then most of the members here. |
Yea, I did not see anyone in support of the AWB so that they could keep their hunting guns. |
Well if the Fudds and hunters that are so ready to give you up are not on the hunting forums where are they? Where is this massive movement by hunters/fudds to support the AWB? I agree that they may not be on any part of the internet, forums or news, but how would anyone know their position on the AWB? Where is it documented? |
Truth be known, most people probably read your thread and moved on, not seeing it as being worth a response. I hate to do that, though - so I went back to that forum I found earlier today, did a search on 'assault ban' or something like that, and within about a minute, I was reading this thread: www.huntingnet.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=2001380&mpage=1 There's at least one firearm-owning, anti-gun Fudd in that thread. I didn't read the whole thing - there may be more. Point is, there are plenty of Fudds out there. Not all have internet access, and it's not my day to go around making a list of them anyway. |
It doesn't need to be. It's enough that we see them staring down their noses at us at the ranges, asking why we "need" ebrs and things of the sort. Their position is documented at bradycampaign.org. They are anti sympathizers, and they vote. I guess you haven't seen them at your ranges, since you seem highly skeptical of the very EXISTENCE of Fudds. If that's the case, good for you. But they do exist, and for a lot of people, it seems easier to hate and fear something than it is to educate oneself about it. In fact, a lot of the fallacy that Fudds fall prey to is the idea that they don't associate themselves with EBR people, normally, and because THEY personally don't see a lot of them, it must not be an item of much interest and therefore not worth their consideration. THEN, when someone like Brady comes along and says "Hey let's ban these non-essential guns," the Fudds forget about that little 2nd Amendment, and say "sure, why not, i've never seen anyone hunt with them. hell i usually just see criminals use those guns in movies, so i guess i'll just be fear-mongered." On a similar note, just because you've never seen or heard Fudds, doesn't mean they're not consorting with the enemy and collaborating in the fight to strip good Americans of their rights. |
How the fuck can you compare the pillow biters who would visit that forum to hunters.
