Awesome creatures, they always have a smile look on their face.....I believe its the two towed Sloth that is slower than the three tow Sloth.

Edit...its the other way around (3 towed is more lethargic), but both are still rather slow.

The backward elbows always freak me out.  Actually I think most of gods creatures are beautiful.  And, some of them taste really good too...

Yeah, the three towed Sloth (I believe its that way around) is not as lethargic in nature as the 2 towed Sloth.

Edit...its the other way around....but both are still rather slow.

Can they become aggressive towards people or other animals?  I have seen footage of Sloths being pet by people with some humorous results.  I wish I could find some of the videos.

Is it true that they move so slowly that moss sometimes grows on them?

I heard that somewhere, never researched if it was true.

Not really......the animals are very tame and not aggressive.

They more or less stay in the Trees.  And actually when they take a crap, they climb down the tree and claw to the base (do their business)....then climb back up the tree.

Interesting.

When I went to the Army Jungle Warfare School with my Marine unit (Ft. Sherman, Panama), we saw tree sloths all over the place...very cool. One of my favorite animals.

Their smell is unbelievable and if you get to close, they can be quite fast, those are claws after all. We caught one once, when I was on ASP guard at Ft. Espenar in Panama, was an interesting animal, we released it in a more remote area.
