When I click a PDF link it freezes mt computer, when I hit "save target as" it downloads it with no problem. Any idea why, it just started after I upgraded to 7 reader |

two things: one: Adobe is a resource hog both for system resources and bandwidth while it's loading a document. Best practice is to "right click save as" if your going to be reading .pdf's from the Internet. Imagine you want to look at a 1mb .pdf on the web, when you try and open it across the wire your system has to cache all that data before you can start clicking around in the document, response time is faster if the file is on your local machine. two: upgrade to the latest version of Adobe (ver 8) that may help a little and there are also some recent vulnerabilities that have been fixed in version 8. |
