Be sure to catch the next episode of Future Weapons on the Discovery Channel they will be testing some kind of new AR15 system, maybe a piston set-up that is impossible to jam, the previews has him totally submarining the AR in a deep pit of sand and then dumping a mag, looks good just a heads up.

then the guy talks about how the gun is like nothing hes ever seen before,

and how this gun can shoot 1000 meters away unlike any other gun in history.

the way this guy acts like a total fairy on the show, I'd have to call bullshit on his being a SEAL.  Anyone know him personally?

It's the HK-416. "Small Arms Review Magazine" did a big review of it a while back. I've read smaller articles on it in various other magazines as well. It's a piston driven AR.

If you are a regular watcher of the show, you might have seen a couple seconds of it in the HK PDW episoide. They probably reviewed both at the same time and they apparently accidentally mixed in a few seconds of 416 footage with the MP7 or whatever.

I wonder how many times he will muzzle sweep the camera man this episode.

the grenade launcher episode he did recently had some beautiful shots looking right down the bore of apparently loaded launcher.

I was waiting on the camera man to start dropping f-bombs on him.

Just to talk about how much credibility he has, they had a demonstration on the show about the LeMas blended metal technology ammo, LeMas put on their standard smoke and mirrors demonstration and the host fell for it hook line and sinker!  For the uninitiated, the LeMas blended metal technology has been completely debunked as a con job.

I was thinking the same thing.  And i was wondering how in the hell does he get clearance to just take these guns in his suv to the range for testing.

I stopped watching it after a few shows, but from what I remember the host is annoying. He describes everything as the latest, newest, most hi-tech, hardest hitting, most accurate, longest range, largest payload military weapon ever developed.

Everything is some completley new weapon.  It gets old really fast.

Instead of that douchebag host being on there... I'd like to see Hulk Hogan hosting that show... I'd watch it for sure then.

ETA: Or MachoMan Randy Savage...

Hardly anything on the show is a future weapon, it's all mostly stuff thats been around for a long time. Quite boring.

+1

It would be a lot better if they were more technical, they would actually educate the audience rather than just spew out a lot of half accurate stuff.  Some of the items they show deserve the praise but often they just slide over any weaknesses that the system could have. A good example of this was the metal storm segment, it talked about how great it is but it never mentioned any of its many weaknesses/untested features.

He's the real deal.

In Future Weapons he's reading a script and acting the part and making a killing.
I saw him on another program and he was a completely different guy...seemed very
down to earth and very approachable.
The show is just one of his many streams of income. More power to him.

The other night, he was comparing a new grenade MG to the Mk 19, and kept going on about how much less recoil there was.  Obviously, it was a HUGE innovation.

Of course, he failed to mention that he was comparing a 40mm to a 25mm.

I think TDC is dropping the ball on the new shows..Look at that tool Bear Grylls???? I watch that show as a comedy. I cannot wait for the first lawsuit where some jerkoff sheep used his technique of making up time in the wilds by hopping in the nearest river with his Jansport bookbag as a floatation device,,,fucking moronic shows

I must have been living in a cave.  I just started watching this series about 2 weeks ago.  Not bad in my opinion.  Better than most of the other stuff on during prime time.

I am watching Future Weapons episode 13 on my Tivo and I am annoyed. The are showing the HK AR variants. The host of the show is obviously firing bursts, evidenced by the fact I can see spurts of brass and his finger engaging the trigger and letting off. But some discovery channel sound editor must not understand what is actually going on, because what I see and what I hear are contradictory. I hear all out full auto fire, that for some reason they have decided to drop in in place of the real sound. I realize that it is a TV show above all else but WTF.
